Just back from my darts tour in  Scotland.  Good run home 5hrs 20mins.
I loved travelling around and taking in the breath taking scenery.
I had a great week and would like to thank everyone who helped to make all the nights so successful and also everybody that supported me.
A big thank  you to my mate Wullie Burns for all  his hard work in planning the events.
Here’s to next year, CHEERS !!!!!

Algarve Break for my Birthday

Just had a great break in the Algarve with my wife Nanette for my birthday.
So good to see the sun again!!!!!

Re-charged my batteries for  two  more UK open  Qualifier events in Wigan this coming weekend.

The third and fourth UK Open Qualifier was held at the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan.

224 players entered both days.

I only made the second round on the  Saturday but faired better on the Sunday making it to the last 16.

I beat Matt Clark 6-0, Roland Scholten 6-1, Alex Roy 6-4 ,Kevin Thomas  6-5 and then lost to  Gary Anderson.

Gary Anderson and Andy  Hamilton both hit  nine darters on the Saturday and Michael van Gerwen was the winner on the Saturday and  Robert Thornton on the Sunday.

Looking forward to the second European Tour in Germany over Easter.

European Tour 1 Minehead

The first European Tour of the year held at Butlins, Minehead, didn’t go to plan as I lost 6-4 to Kurt van de Rijck in the first  round. I was scoring really well but missed too many doubles and you  know what they say “scoring for show, doubles for dough”.

Congratulations to John Part now the Uk Masters Champion after defeating Stuart Kellett 6-4 in the final.

I’m pleased with my start to the year in  the UK Open Qualifiers held at  the K2 Centre, Crawley at the weekend.

On the Saturday Colin Lloyd beat me 6-4 in the third round after wins over Sam Hamilton and Mark Frost.
On the  Sunday I faired better by making it to the last 16 beating  John Bowles 6-5  in the first taking  a 170 shot out to  win the game. Then Colin Osborne 6-1, Ian Moss 6-1, Michael Mansell 6-0 then lost to Mervyn King 6-3.
I played well all day and am happy with my performance.

Robert Thornton hit a nine dart finish on the Saturday and Kevin Thomas hit one on the Sunday.
Congratulations to Michael Van Gerwen who is still in excellent form for completing the Crawley Double claiming victory over Dave Chisnall on the Saturday and Brendan Dolan on the Sunday.

I’m now looking forward to the first European Tour of the year at Butlins, Minehead 8th-10th March.

Happy Darting

Everyone had a great night on Saturday at the Brookside Club, Syston, Leics.
Many Thanks to Jon Archer for organising the event and making it such a success.

World Championship – second game is on Sunday 23rd at 3-20pm

Steve secured his place in the second round of the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship thanks to a 3-0 victory over Australia’s Kyle Anderson.

Steve missed doubles in the first two sets but thankfully Kyle didn’t capitalise on them.

Steve took the third set without reply to set up an eye-catching last 32 encounter against number three seed James Wade.

That game will take place on Sunday 23rd December at approx 3.20pm in the afternoon.
