I was disappointed to lose to Jamie Bain in the first round of the HappyBet German Darts Grand Prix in Mannheim but that happens when you miss too many doubles but I am playing well and have already qualified for the next European event in Riesa Germany from 22nd-24th Sept and also the Unibet World Grand Prix in Dublin next month. Well Happy !!!!

I had a brilliant run at the weekend at the Dutch Darts Masters in Maastricht making the Final of the European Tour 9.
I played Nico Blum in the first round defeating him 6-4, Mensur Suljovic 6-3 in the second round, Martin Schindler 6-4 in the third, John Henderson 6-2 in the Quarters, Peter Wright 6-4 in the  Semi’s then eventually losing to the World No 1 Michael Van Gerwen in the Final.
I played well all weekend and am thoroughly enjoying my darts and am now looking forward to next weekends European event in Mannheim Germany!!!!       Presentation Photo credit “PDC Europe”

I secured my place in both the HappyBet German Darts Grand Prix and the Happy Bet International Darts Open in Friday’s UK Qualifier double header at the Barnsley Metrodome.
The HappyBet German Darts Grand Prix takes place in Mannheim between September 8-10, with the HappyBet International Darts Open following later in the month in Riesa on September 22-24.
I made the last 16 on the Saturday in Pro Tour 17 but went out first round in Pro Tour 18 on the Sunday.
I have two exhibitions this coming weekend, the Railway Inn, Helsby on Friday 11th Aug and the Legion in Brechin on Saturday 12th August !!!!

Disappointed losing to Adrian Lewis in the Betvictor World Matchplay as I didn’t play as well as I had been and missed a few chances but was pleased to once again be part of such a prestigious tournament.
I had a great night working with Richard Ashdown, Ted Hankey, Martin Adams and Lisa Ashton last Friday at the Clash of the Titans Corby Radio event 2017. A great turnout and everyone enjoyed the evening.
I’m now looking forward to 2 x European Qualifiers and 2 Pro Tour events at the Barnsley Metrodome this coming weekend 4th-6th August !!!!

I am over the moon to have qualified for the Betvictor World Matchplay at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool from the 22nd-30th July.
Once again to be part of this prestigious tournament which all us dart players love means the world to me !!!!

I would like to thank my sponsors Winmau, The Wigley Group and Airport Placements Ltd for all their support throughout the year and for this tournament.

Another Great Weekend at the Metrodome in Barnsley.
I qualified for the European Tour 9  in Maastricht Netherlands from 1st-3rd September on the Friday evening.
Saturday I made the Last 32 but on the Sunday I made it through to the Semi’s losing on the deciding leg of the match to Zoran Lerchbacher denying myself a place in the Final against Joe Cullen. On my way to the Semi’s I defeated Simon Preston, Aden Kirk, Andy Boulton, Kirk Shepherd and Ian White.
GREAT NEWS:  I secured my spot in the Betvictor World Matchplay !!!!

I didn’t qualify for European Tours 6, 7, or 8 in Hamburg, Vienna, & Leverkusen so was very disappointed. This also meant I was fighting for a place in the World Matchplay at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool next month so you can imagine when the next day I went and won Pro Tour 13, to say I am over the moon is an understatement. So Hopefully I have secured my place !!!! I have been to Scotland, Leeds, Newcastle and Bristol for exhibitions this month so have been clocking up a few miles. I  am very happy to have a week at home now and will be using the time to catch up with the gardening and spending some quality time with my wife !!!!

STEVE BEATON rolled back the years to claim a third PDC ProTour win as he defeated Gary Anderson 6-3 in the final of Players Championship 13 in Wigan.

It was Beaton’s first PDC tournament victory since September 2013 when he won on the European Tour in Sindelfingen, and his second career Players Championship title.

The 53-year-old made a flying start to the decider taking out 125 in the opening leg, before a 12 dart leg gave the ‘Adonis’ a 2-0 lead.

Anderson then missed the bullseye in the third leg to close the gap allowing Beaton to pin double 16 for a 3-0 advantage.

The Scot eventually got on the board in the fourth leg with a 12-darter but Beaton again extended his lead in the fifth despite Anderson hitting a fourth maximum.

The pair then held throw with Beaton moving 5-3 ahead and one leg away from the title, in his first final since July 2016.

Beaton then sealed a commanding 6-3 victory to claim the £10,000 first prize and told Dan Dawson of his delight after the win.

“I fancied this today. Ive been trying so hard this year and I’ve played really well today and I’m delighted to win.” Said Beaton.

“I went to bed last night thinking I want to be in the Matchplay so hopefully this will take me a long way to getting there. Everyone wants to win but maybe I tried that bit harder today.” Added the former Lakeside World Championship winner.

Beaton had opened the day with a dominant 6-0 victory over Matthew Dennant before Keegan Brown offered a tough test, with Beaton coming through 6-4.

A 6-2 win over Robert Owen followed before world number six Dave Chisnall was beaten 6-4.

Another 6-0 demolition job took place in the quarter-finals as Beaton whitewashed Kirk Shepherd to set up a semi-final encounter with Players Championship 12 winner Rob Cross.

Beaton looked strong again as he overcame his opponent 6-3 to book a deciding match with Gary Anderson.

The world number two needed a last leg decider to get through round one, beating Rowby-John Rodriguez 6-5.

Wins against Adam Hunt, Harry Robinson and Michael Smith followed to move Anderson in to the last eight.

The two-time World Champion then lost just one leg in the next to matches, whitewashing Kim Huybrechts and then beating Daryl Gurney 6-1 to progress in to the final.

Despite an average of over 108 in the final Anderson succumbed to a slightly lower average of 107.09 and finishing stats of 6/9, as Beaton sealed the win in Wigan.
