Steve rounds up Super Series 3 campaign with his best run of the week today, finally he made the Last 32 after coming close on the three attempts before! Well-deserved
Steve showed steady performances all week long, averaging between 91 and 99 in 8 out of his 9 matches! No first round exits as he was beating David Evans (6:4), John Brown (6:1), Lisa Ashton (6:4) and Derk Telnekes (6:3) in his openers.
Second round proved to be tricky on the first three days. Steve had his chances but unfortunately fell short to Danny Noppert (3:6), Steve Lennon (4:6) and Robert Thornton (4:6). The closest he came was against Thornton: Steve achieved his highest average of the Series (98.37) and was absolutely flying when he took a 4:1 lead, maybe should have won from here but Robert fought back and turned the tide.
On the last day of action Steve finally managed to break into the Last 32 with a great win over in-form Andy Boulton (6:1)! In his following game with Michael Smith Steve came back from 1:3 and forced world’s number 8 into a deciding leg, unfortunately with it wasn’t to be in the end.
Great and steady darts Steve, keep it going! Have a safe way home
