World Series Results

I qualified last weekend for the World Series and ended the hopes of  Simon Whitlock in a thriller to end the opening night taking out double 12 for the game.
I felt great in that game but it was a very late night and I felt exhausted the next day and couldn’t find any rhythm against Rob Cross whatsoever going down 6-0.
Very disappointed but I have to say it’s great to be home.
I didn’t manage to qualify for the World Grand Prix this year so the next time I will be playing will be in the Winter Series later this year.
Off out for a ride on my bike now!!!!
Thank you to my sponsors: Winmau and The Wigley Group

Betfred World Matchplay

Well I lost 11-9 to Adie Lewis in the matchplay. My foot came off the peddle in the last couple of legs but I played well and it was a good game to watch.  It was my 21st matchplay and my 20th consecutive appearance so I am very proud to have been part of it but it was very strange playing without a crowd.
Roll on the next tournament !!!!

Summer Series Milton Keynes 8-12 July – Betfred Matchplay

I am over the moon to have qualified for my 20th consecutive World Matchplay !!!!
It was such a hard week spent in the MK Dons stadium in Milton Keynes playing darts in the PDC “Bubble”.
Five events:  Last 16, Last 64 and 3 first rounds so not the best few days of darts but I was playing decent darts with good averages so chuffed to be in the Betfred World Matchplay.
I have drawn Adrian Lewis in the first round.  Schedule to follow.
I would like to take this opportunity to thanks the PDC for putting on the Summer Series and all the hard work that went on behind the scenes and thank you to all the officials and security that helped to make it a great event.
When my wife picked me up yesterday it was heaven to be out in the fresh air again.
I would also like to say thank you to my sponsors Winmau and The Wigley Group for their continued support.

I have been very active in the garden, planting all our vegetables, all the fruit trees are looking good and I can see we are going to have a lot of strawberries again this year.
Also been keeping fit cycling most days since the lock down began, but it was so good to be able to take the motorbike out yesterday first time for a fair few months.
Hopefully some sort of darts will be able to start again later this year as it’s really strange being at home for such a long period of time.

Me and my wife Nanette in our garden.  Stay safe everyone !!!!

Barnsley 13-15 March

Not a good weekend for me at all.  I didn’t qualify for ET3 or ET4 on the Friday and then went out first round on the Sat and Sun.  I should have won both of my first round games so only have myself and my doubles to blame !!!!

Result UK Open Minehead

I started off far too slow against Gary Anderson which was my downfall even though I made a good comeback it wasn’t enough ending the match with a 10-7 win to Gary.
You are on a learning curve all the time in this game so hopefully you come back stronger.
I am in the qualifiers for ET3 – European Darts Open and ET4 – The German Darts Grand Prix at the Metrodome in Barnsley this coming weekend followed by 2 Pro Tour events 13-15 March here’s hoping for some good results !!!!

ET 1-Belgium Darts Championship Result

In the first European Tour of 2020 held at the Expo Hasselt in Belgium I defeated Hong Kong’s Kai Fan Leung 6-4 on the Friday setting up a second round game against a very inform  Nathan Aspinall. I lost 6-3 but it was a lot closer than the score line suggests.  So I know I am playing well going in to the Ladbrokes UK Open at Butlins Minehead this coming weekend!!!!

Wigan Weekend 22-23 Feb

I made the quarter final today Sunday 23rd February in Wigan.
I played some good consistent games and never messed around with my doubles this week defeating Yordi Meeuwisse, Kirk Shepherd, Scott Mitchell and Daryl Gurney the lost 6-4 to Gerwyn Price. Some great averages 92, 102, 96, 102, 96.
Gerwyn Price went on to win the tournament.
I will be travelling to Hasselt in Belgium for The first European Tour of the year this coming Thursday and would so love a run in that !!!!
I would like to thank my sponsors, Winmau, The Wigley Group and HRGO recruitment for their continued support and also to all my supporters and especially my wife Nanette !!!!

Wigan Weekend 14-16 Feb

I qualified for ET1 – Belgian Darts – Championship February 28-March 1 – Expo Hasselt on Friday but didn’t manage to qualify for ET2 -European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen.
Over the weekend I made the last 64 on the Saturday and went out first round on the Sunday – far too many missed doubles.
Back to the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan again this coming weekend for two more pro tour events 22-23 February and am hoping for a decent run !!!!
